Littleton West Animal Hospital opened as a new veterinary hospital in 2012. The vision for this practice is centered around preventative whole health for pets, and respectful, clear and consistent communication with clients. We value our client’s trust and commitment for a healthy pet and a long term relationship.

Our Fear-Free Approach to Pet Care
- Veterinarians do not like to see their patients stressed out and afraid, and we know it is not good for their mental or physical well-being.
- At LWAH we make a concerted effort to minimize fear and anxiety in our patients during their trips to the clinic.
- Our staff is very well trained on reading pets’ body language and individualized restraint based on patients’ responses. We do use frequent treating with dogs, including peanut butter and cheese. Cats are tougher to bribe, but we have a variety of food and play options for them as well.
- We start with puppies and kittens to help them learn to not fear the vet visit. They love to play and to eat, and sometimes we keep them doing those things through the whole exam.
- We use pheromone calming methods throughout the hospital, and we have a cat-only exam room with no dog odors.
- Once we learn what methods work best for an individual dog or cat, we note this in their record and repeat for future visits.
With this approach, we have found our patients happier to come in the next time and not as afraid of “the vet” in general. In the long run this helps to improve their physical health as well.

Advanced Technology for your Pet
Littleton West Animal Hospital is a state-of-the-art veterinary practice, using Cornerstone paperless practice management software for record keeping, client education, digital images and communications. We use Fovea digital x-ray for whole body and Progeny digital dental x-ray. We have an extensive in-house lab, but also send numerous tests to IDEXX Veterinary reference lab.
